“In England in 1925, the future of electricity was as uncertain as women’s place in the industry — but electrical engineer Margaret Partridge thinks that both are part of a future worth fighting for. Based on Partridge’s own historical letters as well as scholarship on Britain’s electrification, this play asks pressing questions about the risks, thrills, inevitability, and contingencies of technological change – and what societal “progress” really means.”
