Urinetown

Rhodes Theatre Guild, The McCoy Theater Spring 2026

Directed by Claire D. Kolheim Musical Direction by Tamatha Holt Choreographed by Katy Stanfield Written by Greg Kotis

“In a world devastated by drought and environmental catastrophe, something as simple as using the bathroom has become a commodified luxury. The poor must pay to use public toilets, all under the strict and dystopian management of the Urine Good Company, headed by the greedy Caldwell B. Cladwell. Amid this system rises Bobby Strong, a humble attendant who becomes radicalized after his father is taken for attempting to use a free restroom, pushing him into leading a rebellion against the oppressive regime. Along the way, he falls for Hope Cladwell, the sheltered daughter of the company’s powerful owner, whose innocence slowly transforms as she confronts the cruelty behind her father’s empire. Along the way, the rebels come face to face with the harsh reality of the world in which they live and the burdens which they all must bear.”
